Discover pastels in a relaxed evening of creativity and wine at Dolphin Gallery, guided by artist Penny Corlett, on Thursday, June 11th, 6pm – 9pm.
Pick up a pastel, pour yourself a glass, and discover just how much you can create in one relaxed evening.
Hosted at Dolphin Gallery and led by artist Penny Corlett, Pastel & Plonk is a laid-back introduction to working with pastels — no experience needed, just a willingness to have a go.
Penny will kick off the evening with a short demonstration, painting a landscape in pastels and sharing some tips and techniques to get you started. Then it’s over to you. Choose a subject that inspires you — whether that’s something from Penny’s reference collection, a postcard from the gallery, or an image you’ve brought along yourself — and work at your own pace with Penny on hand throughout to offer guidance and encouragement.
This is very much an evening about enjoyment and exploration rather than perfection, and if Penny’s previous workshops are anything to go by, you might just surprise yourself with what you produce.
What to bring: Any reference images or inspiration you’d like to work from (though plenty will be provided on the night).
All materials are provided.
Spaces are limited — book early to avoid missing out.
