Trish Ampleford
Trish is a contemporary artist whose work captures the ever-changing drama and beauty of the sea. Working in mixed media, Trish creates semi-abstract seascapes infused with energy, depth and movement. Inspired by the Cornish coast, her paintings explore the interplay of light, water and atmosphere, using bold textures and deep layered colours to evoke the power and rhythm of the sea.
By balancing abstraction with suggestion, Trish leaves space for the viewer’s own imagination and emotions to enter the work. The flowing forms and tactile surfaces invite a deeply personal response. A place to find energy, calm, renewal or much-loved memories. In this way, her paintings become not only reflections of the sea but also mirrors of the inner landscape.
Trish, who has lived in Oxfordshire for most of her life, is mainly self-taught and paints instinctively and intuitively. She paints from her emotions, resulting in work that is as much about inner experience as it is about the sea itself.
