Ruth Messenger

I paint as my way of keeping a diary. I’ve worked many years as a nanny and travelled all around the world with different families. Creating an image in some form to help process life. I enjoy painting in mixed media, always experimenting with different materials, creating new textures and finishes. I grew up in Australia and was influenced by the aboriginal paintings, using patterns and vibrant colours seems to have stayed with me. I studied Graphic Design in Warwickshire and recently moved back to the UK after living abroad for the past 35 years, most recently New Orleans.
