Ian Howarth

Ian Howarth

Ian was born in the Mancunian wastelands in the ‘70s, before gravitating to the Cornish coastlands as a young lad. He studied at the picturesque Falmouth College of Art & Design, before progressing with a BA Hons in Salisbury College in Wiltshire.

Motivated the by skies and seas, and all things fauvist, Ian uses an odd combination of acrylic spray cans and natural paint to effectively produce the images in his head – an abstract world where graffiti meets fine art. Utilising multiple canvasses for one piece, nothing can be the same and nothing will be reproduced. Everything is a one off, a stand alone combination of vibrant hues, contrasting colours and silhouetted nods to things past and present, real and unreal.
