Chris Townsend

Christopher’s work is concerned with challenging sculptural space through the creation of art which is wall, ceiling or floor based. Throughout his work there is a base interest in line, form and balance.
“I am excited by the thought of creating a unique visual language with my work, an individual way in which one is describing and interpreting a journey through life; responding to stimuli, feelings and emotions”.
“The location of my studio influences my art with its agricultural links to the land and the landscape and the earth”.
He works with mild steel, stainless steel, found metal objects, stone and wood. His artworks are limited editions, and he has created numerous commissions. Works feature in private and institutional collections both across the UK and internationally.
In 2019 he was a featured and winning artist in the BBC programme ‘Home is where the Art is’.
