Summer Arts Competition Results!!

on July 3rd, we celebrated the incredible talent of our local artists at the Dolphin Gallery. This years theme, “Hidden Places around Wantage”, brought out some truly remarkable pieces!

in the Under 16 category, 10-year-old Jasper stole the show with his amazing sketch. His piece was inspired by the brickwork above the Wantage Bookshop on Mill Street. His talent at such a young age is very impressive.

For the Over 16 category, Rosemary wowed the judges with her unique felted piece depicting sheep’s knuckles- a truly creative interpretation of our hidden places theme as these can be found on Newbury Street.

A big thank you to our esteemed judge, local artist Lin Kerr, for her expertise in selecting our winners. and a special thanks to Jim Mitchell, organizer of the Wantage Summer Arts Festival, for announcing the results. (and all the hard work he does to promote arts in Wantage).

Both winners will have their artwork professionally framed and displayed in the Dolphin Gallery’s window for a month. They will be up soon so make sure to stop by and admire these fantastic pieces!

we’re so proud of all our participants for bringing Wantage’s hidden places to life through their art. Here’s to nurturing creativity in our community. Thank you!
