Through currently living in Oxfordshire, Natalie describes her heart remaining in her childhood home of Cornwall. This place serves as a constant inspiration for her, through its dramatic and powerful imagery of bands of rain coming over the sea to the moors – the same imagery she endeavours to capture in her work.
Day attended Falmouth School of Art and Design, but she encountered a creative block 10 years ago. She then reacquainted herself with the profession in 2017 and has gently returned to regular practice of making art. Currently Day is experimenting with media and techniques new to her, exploring mark making and challenging her understanding of chosen materials. As her practice develops, she is “more willing to take risks and let the materials guide [her], detaching from the outcome and allowing [her] intuition to lead the way.” This has resulted in discoveries in artistic preferences.
She regularly exhibits at art fairs around the country and in January 2020 she will be commencing a year-long Studio Practice and Mentoring Programme at the Newlyn School of Art in Cornwall. All Artists
