Lizzie Wheeler

I enjoy working in a stylised and colourful style, paying close attention to shape and colour. I work primarily with mono-printing techniques, which I then incorporate with a variety of other print processes, including linoprint, etching, collagraph, and drypoint. Around my own practice I work as a print technician at the Oxford Printmakers Co-operative, where I enjoy the knowledge and energy I get from the other members. Inspiration for my work comes from the natural world, the creatures who inhabit it, and a desire to capture the moments of magic that are experienced when in these wilder places. I print because I love the process of taking something that inspires, excites, or moves me, and expressing it in my own way through line, tone, shape and colour. I love the process of crafting something by hand and the energy and sense of connection it brings.
